Good news was received yesterday from Winchester City Council planning department who have approved plans to build a totally new studio adjacent to my current premises.

This will provide a control room and a separate live room through the usual window. (And a loo!)

The whole building has been professionally designed by a firm of acoustic engineers to meet the rigorous demands of sound insulation, thus ensuring no leakage of noise to neighbours, and to avoid recordings being contaminated by outside noises (such as traffic). 

​

The acoustic treatment inside the two rooms will be extensive, to provide an accurate mixing environment in the control room, and a pleasing acoustic in the live room.

As of this date, completion of building plans by the architect is awaited, and then finalising builders' quotations.
